Updating bios cumulative update Free chat no lgin nauty

Hi, I receive the Maximus V gene mobo and have an old bios version. Or I have to download the next version and keep going until the last version? Hi, yet in your overclocking guide you say : Before overclocking your Maximus V Formula its a good idea to update it to the latest version of the BIOS. what is the best option , should i get the newest version ?

Do they work like the gfx drivers, then latest the better ?

:) And the latest BIOS updates tend to be more about fixing compatibility issues more than anything else in any case.

If you're afraid, just stay with the original bios, I'm not afraid.

:o1604 is indeed a good bios..what I've read on here it's increased stability and fixed issues.

Thanks in advance, MiloŇ° Hi, You're welcome The flash would have occurred at boot, so as this didn't happen, your existing bios revision will not have been affected.

My personal opinion would be to not update the bios unless the update corrects a problem you are experiencing or adds additional functionality that you require - if the machine is running Ok, then there's really no need to update.

I'm afraid to restart computer, or stop the installation.

If I stop it and install a Bios update from somewhre else, would that fix possibly bad installation?

Hello, I was updating some drivers via HP Support Assistant, and BIOS update got stuck as shown on picture below.

I was hoping that someone will be able to direct me what to do next.

There are plenty of people here to get first time users thru the in's and out's of learning your new board, so don't be shy, ask away, learn what you need and enjoy that Maximus V board to it's fullest. After the P5NT-Deluxe fiasco i had pretty much wrote off ASUS, wouldn't even buy a DVD drive with there name on it. My classmates would talk about what type of car they would end up getting, all I thought about was what an amazing pc I wanted for my work. Congratulations on your new gear very smart choices, drop by the Maximus V Owners Club and tell us more about your new rig, and share some experiences and build photos, we love photos.

:p Didn't mean maximusvgene was afraid, just metaphorically speaking if you are hesitant to try any component or feature, just ask someone M8. I never got that memo, but then I get kept out of the loop quite a bit for good reason. After the P5NT-Deluxe fiasco i had pretty much wrote off ASUS, wouldn't even buy a DVD drive with there name on it. After several Nvidia based chipsets from Evga and XFX, i seen it wasn't ASUS's fault as there hands were tied with Nvidia and decided to give them another shot. :) Bruce on the Loose While every effort is made to ensure that each BIOS update is truly problem or error free, some bios versions will and do react unexpectedly due to the huge difference in hardware sets that are in the different systems.

:) I better get back to the Owner's Club, who the hell let me out anyway? After several Nvidia based chipsets from Evga and XFX, i seen it wasn't ASUS's fault as there hands were tied with Nvidia and decided to give them another shot. So i jumped in with both feet and bought the Maximus V Extreme with the 3770K processor and 32gb Corsair memory. Chino is correct in that with the 1604 bios there have been issues that HQ engineers have replicated and as such he was correct to suggest that if it aint broke then do not fix it.
